| Artificial Insemination (IUI)
Artificial insemination or intrauterine insemination (IUI) is one of the oldest methods of treating infertility.
The procedure involves the injection of healthy active sperm in to the uterus at the best time during ovulation and allow nature to take it's course. Fertility specialists fully prepare couples for the procedure prior to the injection and closely monitor the woman after the process.
IUI is used to treat many causes of infertility including problems with low sperm count or mobility. IUI is also a good treatment when there is incompatibility between the sperm and the cervical mucus which causes sperm often to die before reaching the egg.
Artificial insemination can be performed with the partner’s sperm or a donor’s sperm.
